GENERAL INFORMATION TEXT UNDER THE LAW NO. 6698 ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Purpose and Scope of the Information Text
As BODRUM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, we take measures to protect your personal data under the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (hereinafter referred to as “KVKK” or “the Law”). We process your personal data as a “data controller” in accordance with the KVKK and related legislation for the reasons and by the methods explained below.
This Information Text has been prepared in accordance with Article 10 of the KVKK, titled “The Obligation of the Data Controller to Inform,” in order to transparently inform you about the identity of the data controller, the method and legal grounds for collecting your personal data, the purposes for which this data will be processed, to whom and for what purposes it may be transferred, and your rights listed in Article 11 of the KVKK.

Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Your Personal Data
Your personal data may be collected verbally, in writing, or electronically through automatic or non-automatic methods by the Chamber’s working units. Your personal data may be processed and updated as long as your relationship with the Chamber continues and may be stored both digitally and physically.
Your personal data may be processed and transferred in accordance with the purposes stated under the heading “Processed Personal Data and Purposes of Processing” and within the scope of the conditions and purposes for processing personal data stated in subparagraphs (a), (c), (ç), (e), and (f) of Article 5(2) of the Law No. 6698, or with your explicit consent under Article 5(1).
Processed Personal Data and Purposes of Processing
Your personal data is processed for the purposes of fulfilling legal obligations related to employment regulations and carrying out the Chamber’s personnel operations in accordance with applicable legislation.
The categories of personal data collected include:
Identity, Contact, Personnel, Physical Space Security, Transaction Security, Finance, Professional Experience, Visual and Audio Records, Race and Ethnic Origin, Philosophical Beliefs, Religion, Denomination and Other Beliefs, Clothing, Health Information, Sexual Life, Biometric Data, Digital Trace Data, Education Data, and Travel Data.
Your personal data may be processed for the following purposes:
• Compliance with legal obligations under various laws such as the Law No. 5174, 4857, 6098, 6331, 6698, 213, 5510, and other relevant regulations;
• Performing audit and regulatory duties by authorized public institutions and professional organizations;
• Fulfilling requests for information and documents by judicial authorities, consumer arbitration boards, and/or administrative bodies;
• Conducting listing, reporting, and analytical studies on the use of the Chamber’s services, producing statistical and scientific data, improving services, and increasing satisfaction;
• Evaluating complaints and suggestions submitted to the Chamber and communicating directly through shared channels;
• Ensuring data security by implementing technical and administrative measures for systems and applications.
Transfer of Processed Personal Data and Purposes of Transfer
Your personal data may be transferred, only when necessary and in compliance with relevant legislation, to persons/institutions/organizations authorized by law or under Article 8 of the KVKK if one of the conditions listed in Article 5(2) exists, or with explicit consent under Article 9.
Data Retention Period
Your personal data will be processed in accordance with legal time limits and statute of limitations provided under the relevant legislation. Upon expiration of these periods, your data will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized unless further retention is legally required. For detailed information about retention periods, you can contact us through the addresses specified in the section on “Rights of the Data Subject.”
Rights of the Data Subject
As a data subject, pursuant to Article 11 of the Law, you have the right to:
a) Learn whether personal data is processed,
b) Request information if personal data has been processed,
c) Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used in accordance with its purpose,
ç) Know the third parties to whom personal data is transferred domestically or abroad,
d) Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate personal data,
e) Request deletion or destruction of personal data within the framework of Article 7,
f) Request notification of operations carried out pursuant to (d) and (e) to third parties to whom the data has been transferred,
g) Object to the emergence of a result against you by analyzing the data exclusively through automated systems,
ğ) Request compensation in case of damage due to unlawful processing of personal data.
